Top 10: Movie Lines

It’s Thursday’s Top-10; the day my readers get to learn a little about me. Today I am putting on my top 10 favorite movie lines.  I previously did my top-10 movies; you can read those here, but these lines may or may not come from those movies.  That being said, the criteria for these movies is that I must have actually watched them, not just heard them repeated by others (so no Casablanca or Citizen Kane lines).  I’m going to put the lines from the movies first, and see if you can figure out what movie they are from.  The answers will be at the bottom.  Let me know how you did (no Googling, or IMdBing either).

10. “Who are you?”
“Jacob McCandles”
“I thought you were dead.”
“Not hardly.”

9. “Easy miss; I’ve got you.”
“You’ve got me; who’s got you?”

8. “These walls are funny. First you hate ’em, then you get used to ’em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized.”

7. “I want the truth!”
“You can’t handle the truth!” (sorry, had to throw it in)

6. “Show me the money!” (yeah, that one too…)

5. “You make me want to be a better man.”
“That’s maybe the best compliment of my life.”
“Well, maybe I overshot a little, because I was aiming at just enough to keep you from walking out.”

4. “Is this heaven?”
“No. It’s Iowa.”

3. “I see dead people.”

2. “O Captain, my captain.”
. . .”Thank you, boys. Thank you.”

1. (These are a combination of quotes from the movie; they are not just in one scene)

“General, would you care to step outside?”
“Come to me, son of Jor-El, kneel before Zod!”

“Why do you say this to me, when you know that I will kill you for it?”

” Yeah! I know some judo! Come on, let’s go!”

“Take my hand, and swear eternal loyalty to Zod.”

“Too late, Luthor; too late.” (probably the most quoted line I use in my life)

How’d you do?  Here are the answers:

10. Big Jake, 9. Superman, 8. The Shawshank Redemption, 7. A Few Good Men, 6. Jerry McGuire, 5. As Good as It Gets, 4. Field of Dreams, 3. The Sixth Sense, 2. Dead Poet’s Society, 1. Superman II.
