Today, I am starting a three-part series on singleness and family. This first post is aimed at helping everyone–everyone–see singleness as a gift. It may be an unwanted gift from God, but it is a gift nonetheless.
We must be one guard to keep our marriages according to God’s Word.
I want to present you with 5 zones that men need to start guarding more closely. In writing this, I am reminding myself of these areas, as I am by no means perfect in them.
Marriage is good, but it is hard work. Much of the work is done before marriage begins. Be careful about whom you marry. Don’t allow a momentary infatuation turn into a lifetime of pain.
Last week on Family Friday, I dealt with when couples can get divorced. You can read that here (If you haven’t already read it, I’d encourage you to do so before going on). This week is giving reason for devotion.
In week one, we will first seek to understand what Jesus was saying in Matthew 5.31-32 about sexual immorality and divorce, aka the reason for divorce. Next week, we will move to Matthew 19.4-6 about the intent of marriage, aka the reason for devotion. And in two weeks, we will look at what Paul wrote about when divorce is okay in 1 Corinthians 7.10-16, aka the reason to desist.
