You may have heard this famous short-story, but here is a retelling of it, evangelism-style.
This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There were lost people everywhere in need of hearing about gift of salvation. It was Everybody’s job to tell the people the good news. But Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it and so there was no reason to give himself to the task. Anybody could have evangelized the people at his job and in his neighborhood, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about Nobody evangelizing, because in reality, it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it but while Anybody could, it wasn’t just Anybody’s calling, but Everybody’s commission. But Nobody realized that Everybody had forsaken the mandate. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody evangelized to those Anybody could have.
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” (John 20:21, ESV).
