The God of Justice

God is a God of justice and therefore the God’s people are to be a people of justice. Yet when the people of God doubt the justice of God, they tend to abandon the very acts of justice themselves. It can also be said that when the people of God see the justice of God deferred, they tend to defer the very acts of justice themselves. Such was the case in Malachi’s day. Such is the case today.

What we must learn from Malachi 2:17-3:6 is:

1. Don’t allow the lack of evidence of something you desire to see from God cause you to believe a lie about God.
2. Jesus came to purify a people for himself; if you are in Christ that means you. It will be a long and painful process as our sins burn away.
3. God is a God of justice, and we are to be on the side of justice, always. When Christ returns we will not be held accountable as to what is legal, but what is just.
